I remember Nikki as being my best friend growing up. Whenever I was down visiting grama, I always asked Nikki to stay over with me. There are countless nights we stayed up late giggling, sharing secrets, playing barbies or ponies (whatever the theme was that weekend), or camping out on the livingroom floor with millions of blankets with the rest of my cousins...her sisters. As we got older we unfortunatly grew apart and life took us in oposite directions. But she made my childhood fun and full of laughter. I think we are all fortunate to have these few short years with her. And it helps to remember that God has a plan and a reason for everything.
Uncle Tracy

I remember Nikki not as the women she became or the great mother she was, but as the little girl who spent her time reading books in my livingroom as her sisters played.

I remember calling her "My little bookworm"; she would look up at me and smile and quietly return to her book.

She had a desire to learn, but chose to learn in her own way.

She spoke few words, but her mind was allways in motion.

Aunt Tammy
I remember nikki as the oldest sister of four beatiful girls who stole the hearts of anyone who knew them. Nikki was the one who always watched out for the others. She took on alot of responcibilities of being the big sister. Wherever you are now, my sweet nikki, I know you will continue to be the big sister who will watch over your little sisters. You have a very big family here in ottumwa that will miss you very much. I only wish we could have spent more time together. We will not forget you! We love you!
Aunt Christy
I remember a time when I was babysitting the girls and we were coloring in one of their many coloring books. I told Nikki she should color something a certain color, she responded to me that this was her coloring book and she would color it however she wanted. She said it so matter of factly that there was no arguing or reasoning with her. She went back to coloring and did color it how she wanted without a second thought.

This memory stands out for me today because this is the same way Nikki was about her life. It was her life and she was going to live it her way, she could color outside the lines if she wanted to, she could make it as colorful as she wanted and in the end it would be beautiful.

I love you Nikki and think all of your pictures are beautiful.
